Red Cross goes for zero emissions with Tribus

The future of passenger transportation

The Red Cross is celebrating its 150th anniversary with the launch of zero emission passenger transport. On Tuesday, November 10, the Red Cross took delivery of the first Volkswagen E-Crafter. The vehicle will be deployed at the Delft – Midden Delfland department.

For 150 years The Red Cross

It began as a small club of idealists who assisted wounded soldiers on the battlefield, without the Netherlands being involved in the war. 150 years later, the Netherlands Red Cross is a broad-based organization that applies all kinds of assistance, from emergency aid to victims of wars and natural disasters to pricking blisters at the Nijmegen Four Day Marches. More about 150 years of the Red Cross…

In the field of mobility, the Red Cross is also setting a new direction, the course toward sustainability. With the purchase of the Volkswagen e-Crafter wheelchair bus, the Red Cross is starting zero emission passenger transport. The e-Crafter features a quiet electric motor that generates no harmful emissions or noise pollution. Fully in line with the sustainability efforts of the Red Cross.

The Tribus conversion with TriflexFloor

The Volkswagen e-Crafter is a 9-passenger bus with one wheelchair space. The vehicle is equipped with floor system TriflexFloor consisting of aluminum profiles that are clicked together. This lightweight construction allows any arrangement for passenger seats and wheelchairs, maximum flexibility.

Unfortunately, due to the tightened corona measures, the festive handover of the vehicle could not take place. To receive the key, Treasurer Eray Albayrak and Chairman Rogier Oet traveled to Tribus. Sales Manager Norbert Storm welcomed them from a safe distance.

Tribus wishes the Red Cross many safe miles.
